2025
Clean drinking water for Bénali
The village of Bénali, with around 1,500 inhabitants, currently only has a single water point, which is also unreliably powered by solar energy. To ensure a sustainable and reliable supply of drinking water, we are planning to build one or two additional hand pumps in 2025.

Education center and family orphanage
In 2025, we will start planning a training center and a small, family orphanage in Plateau Akposso. This is intended to provide a safe environment for orphans from baby to kindergarten age and accompany them into adulthood in the long term.
2024
School materials for 340 children in Bénali
In November 2024, we provided a total of 340 pupils in Bénali, a village in the Akposso Plateau, with urgently needed school materials and textbooks. This project was realized in collaboration with our partner Yanek and Rodrigue to provide the children with better learning conditions and opportunities for the future.

Together we build bridges between Togo and Switzerland
The “Alliance Togo-Switzerland” is a non-profit association founded by Béatrice Giraud and Martin Stiegeler in Riehen in August 2024. Inspired by several humanitarian trips to Togo, the two are committed to sustainably improving the livelihoods of local people.
We plan and support every project, whether large or small, with personal commitment, transparency and a great deal of enthusiasm.
Why Togo and the Plateau Akposso in particular
From encounter to engagement
Our connection to Togo began with personal encounters on site and the desire to create sustainable improvements together with the people. Especially in the villages of the Plateau Akposso, basic things such as education, medical care, drinking water and local power supply are often lacking. This is precisely where we start with our aid projects.
Trust through teamwork
We work closely with local partners and maintain close cooperation with our partner Yanek and Rodrigue. Through these trusting and cooperative relationships, we can ensure that our aid goes directly to where it is most urgently needed.
Creating solutions together
It is a matter close to our hearts to develop sustainable solutions together with the local inhabitants that have a long-term effect and support the village communities in their independent development. Because it is clear to us that help works best when it is created together.
